Nelson

So, a few weeks ago I dug up part of the archives (see photo above). Last week I saw on FB that Nelson Vails had a documentary premiere in New York. (He's on the CUSA in the picture.) He was always one of my racing heroes, amazing track rider, and inspiration. Man, would I love one of those commemorative jerseys...and to see the documentary...gets me thinking...that reminds me, I drew a picture of him from the cover of his olympic race, a portrait, and if I remember correctly, I mailed it to him. Not that he knew me from Adam...
